~~Thomas W. “Papa”  Mitchell, Jr, 72, of Summerville, passed away Monday evening, April 25, 2016 at his residence. 

A memorial service will be held Thursday evening, April 28, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Bethany United Methodist Church, Summerville.

Mr. Mitchell was born October 4, 1943 in Clinton, SC, son of the late Thomas W. Mitchell, Sr. and Frances Julia Bishop Mitchell. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time at the ballfield with his grandsons. He retired from Gore Manufacturing as an accountant and later worked for Oakwood Homes as a handyman. 

Surviving are two sons, Wesley (Marcie) Mitchell of Summerville and Gray (Leslie) Mitchell of McConnells, SC, four grandsons, Gavin Wesley Mitchell, Jackson Thomas Mitchell and Colin Gray Mitchell all of Summerville and Elijah Gray Mitchell of McConnells, SC, numerous cousins, aunt Marion Mitchell of Clinton, SC, the mother of his children, Mary G. Mitchell of Crystal Beach, TX and his granddog, Cooper.
