~~James McNeil “Buddy” Hucks, 68, of Charleston, husband of Peggy Koester Hucks, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.

A Celebration of  Life Service will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 South Main Street, Summerville. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00PM until hour of service.

Mr. Hucks was born February 25, 1948 in Wilmington, NC, son of the late James Leston Hucks and Annie Capps Hucks. He was a graduate of schools in Charleston.  He was the founder and operator of Hux Racing, specializing in engine building and drag racing. He retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard as a Nuclear Marine Specialist.

Surviving in addition to his wife are: three daughters: Sarah Hucks Taylor  (Keith), Patricia Ann Hucks and Melissa May Hucks all of Charleston, two granddaughters, Allison L. Taylor and Emily G. Taylor both of Charleston, one sister, Shirley Hucks Nuckolls (Stuart) of Hanahan and their two sons, Daniel (Lindsey) Nuckolls and Jeremy (Andrea) Nuckolls.
