Josette (SC Sweetie No. 1) Nettles, 78, of Summerville, passed peacefully on April 9, 2017, in her home with her daughter by her side. She is predeceased by her husband, Master Sergeant Edwin G. Nettles, retired, and survived by her daughter, Debbie McDonald and husband, Anthony McDonald of Eldersburg, MD; grandson, Anthony Kerere of Silver Spring, MD; son, Thierry Nettles and his wife, Diana Nettles, grandson, Daniel Nettles, and granddaughter, Melissa Nettles, all of Summerville; and son, Eric Nettles and his wife, Mary Ann Nettles, of Bonneau. She is also survived by four great grandchildren. Josette was retired from Civil Service and enjoyed traveling and volunteering her time, for the last 12+ years, at the Joint Base Charleston. Prior arrangements were made and there will be no service. Donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation in Josette’s name.
