Dorcas Ann Thornton

Dorcas (D) Ann Thornton passed away at Summerville, South Carolina on 1:25 am Tuesday February 27^th, 2018 at the age of 80.

D is predeceased by her parents, Howard N. and Juanita Campbell of Minden, Louisiana.

D is lovingly remembered by her sons R. Shawn Thornton (Boston, MA) and Jason H. Thornton (North Charleston, SC), their spouses Calvin Campany and Christine Thornton; grandchildren Tyler C. Thornton, Daniel S. Thornton, Kevin C. Thornton, Layne A. Thornton; great-grandchildren Adeline Thornton and Jackson Thornton.

D was born in Watauga, TN on April 2, 1937. She was a graduate of Doylene High School in 1955 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Women’s University in 1959. She was an expert educator, computer engineer and minister.

D enjoyed painting, reading, music, her ministry and most of all, her family.
