Candice Maree Bowers Nowak, resident of Mount Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, October 3,2018 at the age of 27. She was known as a loving and giving person and even in death, her generosity continued as she saved 3 lives with the donation of her organs.
Candice was born on October 19, 1990 in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of Katherine Cain Hayes and James Lawrence Bowers. She attended several elementary schools and Wando High School. She later graduated from dental assistant technician school in Mount Pleasant. Candice accepted Christ at a young age after attending church camp and was a member of the First Baptist Church Elloree.
Growing up, Candice enjoyed a variety of sports, including basketball, cheerleading and especially gymnastics. Her love for gymnastics led to many competitions in and out of state. Candice had a love for singing. During the past several years she composed several songs and successfully competed in singing competitions. She had written a children’s book and had filled numerous journals with her songs, stories and poems.
Above all, Candice was a dedicated mother. Her heart and world were wrapped around her children, Jaycee Cain and Jessa Maree.
Candice is survived by her husband, Joshua Nowak, son, Jaycee Bowers 11, daughter, Jessa Nowak 5 of Mount Pleasant, SC, mother, Katherine Hayes (Steve) of Smoaks, SC, sister, Megan Robinson, nephew, Travis Michael, niece, Lillyanna Katherine of Mount Pleasant, SC, father, James Bowers (Michelle), brother, Jamison Bowers of Mount Pleasant, SC, maternal grandmother Syble Lyons, paternal grandmother, Frances Bowers Geiter, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William “Jimmy” Cain, paternal grandfather, Emory Bowers, maternal step grandfather Gene Lyons, uncle, Geno Cain, and uncle, Brian Bowers.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church, 6208 Old Number 6 Hwy Elloree, SC 29047
