Michael Dale Cunningham, 64, of Goose Creek, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Mike had great love for family and friends. He was generous with his time and gave what he could when someone was in need. To this day, he still picked-up hitch-hikers and took them where they needed to go. He was a great fiancé, dad, papa and friend. 

> He is survived by his fiancée Tracy Barnard; father Dale (Kay); children Ben (Amy), Chandra, Nick, Tony (Lizz), Alex, and step-son Brian (Mary); his grandchildren who brought him great joy: Tyler, Lila, Becca, Brian John, Kara, and Rutledge; and his siblings: Ken (Daisy), Julie (Russ), Steve, Rob, Troy, David, Corey, Lily, Tabitha, Tracey, Justin, and Chris. He is preceded in death by his mother Charlene and his sisters Cindy, Pam, and Cheri. He always put family first.

> Mike grew up in the great state of Iowa and graduated from Saydel High School in 1971. He then served in the US Army through 1974. Mike started his Cunningham’s auction house and owned a residential care facility named East Lane Manor in Jewell, Iowa. Mike was very proud of earning his degrees in business and marketing later in life. He was a writer of short stories and poetry.

> Mike loved the Minnesota Vikings and this year he had great hope for the team. He also loved watching movies with his family, eating candy and buttered popcorn with extra butter, and playing with his grandchildren. He was a great storyteller, and he loved to play jokes and pranks where everyone was free game. He had a great sense of adventure. In his youth he took flying lessions, loved parachuting, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. 

> He was loved.

> A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Knightsville United Methodist Church at 1505 Central Ave, Summerville, SC 29483. Rev. Jo Anna Fallaw will be officiating. A reception will follow at the Arbor Village clubhouse, 10825 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485.
