Neal Lawson Lowe

Neal Lawson Lowe, of Summerville, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at home and surrounded by family. He was 78 years old. Neal was born on January 14, 1940 to parents Benjamin and Mae. Though born in Williamson, WV, he grew up across the river in eastern Kentucky, in the lands made famous by the Hatelds and the McCoys. Neal earned his degree in business administration from Virginia Tech, where he met Wanda Lee Rider at a college dance; they married in 1962. Upon graduation, he joined the Navy and became a communications ofcer stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. After his military service, his career in accounting and HR took him from Fieldcrest, to Corning Incorporated, to Alumax (later Alcoa), the company from which he retired. Neal is survived by his daughter Paige and her husband Clarke Smith of Summerville, his daughter Heather Lowe and her husband Bryce Williams of Durham, NC, and by his three grandsons: Connor, Cameron and Corey. A memorial service will be held in the Mausoleum at Dorchester Memory Gardens at noon on Saturday, August 18.
