JAMES DONALD MACGREGOR
Mt. Pleasant-James Donald MacGregor, 83, husband to Barbara Jean MacGregor, passed away on August 5, 2019.
James was born on July 2, 1936, in Abbington Township, PA, a son of the late James and Edith MacGregor. As a young man, James served in the US Army. He began his career at Standard Pressed Steel Co. (SPS) while residing in the Philadelphia area until 1980. James relocated to Fort Wayne Indiana where he worked as a plant manager at Lampson and Sessions. James retired to Mt. Pleasant SC in 1998, where he was an avid golfer. James was employed part-time at Patriots Point Golf Club. He treasured his Scottish roots, enjoyed completing the daily crossword puzzle, target shooting at the gun range and cheering on any Philly team.
James is survived by His loving wife, Barbara, His children Michael MacGregor (Lisa), Lisa MacGregor-Weiss (Chris), Stephen MacGregor, Cyndi Stamm (John), Michael Calvert (Peggy), Beth Iler (Mona), 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two fur babies.
James was a caring man who loved his family, friends, and country, He will be missed by many.
A celebration of Jim’s life is being planned for this fall.
